Merlot has become very popular in the last then years, It is one of the more drinkable types of red wine with its low acidity and mellow softness. Merlot is grown widely in many of the regions and can be blended particularly with Cabernet or stand alone.

Merlot wines usually have a medium body with hints of berry, plum and currant. Merlot’s softness is highly valued when blended with more tannic grapes.

Merlot notes

Dark, violet and purple. Raspberry and blackberries mingle with vanilla and cocoa.
Low acid and low tannin results in a soft wine. Smooth rich and well balanced. Full high alcohol. Dry.

Food pairing: Merlot  is excellent with pasta, roasted vegetables, grilled tuna, grilled salmon, lamb, grilled chicken, roasted pork, soft cheese.
